The 2012 awards were presented during the TAKREER hosted gala dinner in the gardens of the Armed Forces Officers Club.

And the winners are...

Middle East Refinery of the Year - ORPIC
Awarding a refinery which has achieved operational excellence (i.e. dramatically reducing CO2 emissions, improving energy efficiency, and/or implementing a remarkable maintenance initiative).

Awarded for ORPIC's record performances in 2011. With earnings of US$418 million in 2011, way above its $1 million/day target and production of 46.99 million barrels of fuel, a 34.16 per cent increase over 2010.

Strategic Partnership of the Year – SATORP
Awarding a venture or partnership that led to significant results and advancements in terms of process optimisation, project management and overall business results within the downstream industry.

Awarded for SATORP's key role as leading joint venture between major oil companies Saudi Aramco and TOTAL with the aim to build world-class refineries and for its on track construction record.

Downstream Technology of the Year – EXXONMOBIL RESEARCH & ENGINEERING
Recognising a company for developing and/or improving upon a technology which revolutionises the downstream sector
